Double-click on the DragNet Installer file on the floppy disk. The installer will add all the files to your disk necessary to run DragNet.
Running DragNet for the first time.
To get a quick overview on how DragNet works, you should start by using the Sample Bookmarks file provided.
1. Double-click on the Sample Bookmarks file.
2. Go to the Preferences menu located under the Edit menu.
3. Click on the "Card Tab" on the top of the window labeled Browser.
4. Select the browser that you you plan to use with DragNet.
Now you are ready to use DragNet.
Things to try in each window.
DragNet allows you to view your bookmark data in four different ways. The following gives an example usage of each window.
* Addresses - Select the Addresses from the windows menu. Click on the navigation arrows at the top of the window to scroll through the addresses. The buttons correspond to first, previous, next, and last. When you find an address that you are interested in, simply double click on the icon located to the left of the URL field.
* Directory - Select the Directory from the windows menu. This window is designed to mimic the Finder's view by name window. Double click on a folder to open up a sub-window. Double clcik on an address to go to that address in your browser.
* Hot List - Select the Hot List from the windows menu. Hold your mouse cursor over one of the 10 programmed buttons on the bottom of the window. The address linked to that button wil show up in the blank space in the top of the Hot List window. Simply click the button to navigate your browser to that address. Click in one of the six pop-up menus in the hot list. You will see a list of all addresses on that folder. Select an address from this list to navigate your browser to that address.
* Searcher - Select the Searcher from the windows menu. Type the word "apple" in the contains field. Press the search button. You now have a listing of all the addresses that contain the word apple in their name, description, or URL.
Creating your own bookmark database.
To make your own database, close up any databases that are open using File/Close, then use the File/New command. This will create a new blank bookmark database.
Next, create some category folders for organizing your internet addresses. Use the Make button in the Directory window to create folders. To create sub-folders, highlight the enclosing folder and select the Make button and enter a name. To change the name of a folder, highlight the folder and select the Edit button in the Directory window.
Now, capture an address from your browser. Navigate your browser to a page of interest, go to any DragNet window, and then click the Get URL button.
Using existing browser bookmarks.
If you already have bookmarks in your browser, you can export them to a file and then import back into DragNet selecting File/Import from the main menu.
Customizing DragNet
Go to the Preferences menu located under the Edit menu. Preferences can be set for Warnings, Browser selection, and Windows. If you change a DragNet preference, the change is stored when you click the OK button.

Click on the Select Browser button to get a file locator dialog. Point to your browser and the text window on the right will describe what DragNet features are supported by your browser.
How can I register my DragNet?
DragNet does not require any registration through OnBase Technology. The copy of DragNet that you purchased will ask you for a name and organization during the installation process. This registers your copy of DragNet so that it will not expire.
The only difference between a Demo and a purchased copy of DragNet is that a demo will expire. Once you point to a prevoiusly registerd version, the expiration date is removed from DragNet.

How do I get updates to DragNet?
The latest version of DragNet is always available on our tech support page. Start from our home page at http://www.onbasetech.com. From there select the technical support link next to the DragNet badge icon.
To upgrade your copy of DragNet:
1) Download the latest version from our tech support page.
2) Run this new version and open your database using the file open menu.
3) When DragNet warns you about expiration, simply click the - I Bought It - button. You will then be asked to point to a previously registered version of DragNet (in this case your purchased, installed, version of DragNet).
